Adsorption heat transformers can sustainably provide heating and cooling energy. The key to optimal adsorption heat transformation is the adsorbent material. However, adsorbent materials have not yet been tailored for heating and cooling applications. Thus, we systematically investigate new adsorbent materials by correlating the chemical structure with adsorption performance. These correlations help to tailor new adsorbent materials for heating and cooling applications. The tailored materials allow adsorption heat transformers to run even more efficiently and help to reduce global carbon dioxide emissions.
