Adsorption heat transformers can sustainably provide heating and cooling energy. Key to optimal adsorption heat transformation is the adsorbent material. Yet, adsorbent materials have not been tailored for heating and cooling applications. Thus, we systematically investigate new adsorbent materials by correlating the chemical structure to the
adsorption performance. These correlations help to tailor new adsorbent materials for heating and cooling applications. The tailored materials allow adsorption heat transformers to run even more efficient and help to reduce global carbon dioxide emissions.
