Open Adsorption Systems: Experimental Investigation of Adsorber-Designs and Sorbents
Open adsorption systems can provide heating, cooling, storage of thermal energy, and dehumidification. Low-grade heat obtained from solar or waste heat can be energy sources. The systems are operated at atmospheric pressure.Copyright: © LTT

Our experimental setup consisted of a fan, a heater, an evaporator, and a changeable adsorber unit. The volume flow, the temperature, and the humidity were adjustable. We could also easily change the sorbent material by a filling port.
The system dynamics and the steady state conditions are predicted very well using validated dynamic models in the modeling language Modelica.
