Recent publication about transistion pathways towards net-zero GHG emissions for the global chemical and plastic industry
In this publication we derive cost-optimal transition pathways for the gloabl production of chemicals and plastics.
We investigate transition pathways starting from 2020's fossil-based production towards net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 based on circular technologies.
For this purpose, we developed a techno-economic bottom-up model of the chemical industry.
Based on this model, we assess necessary carbon pricing to incentivize a transition to net-zero, as well as the captial- and resource- intensity of this transformation.
